Multi-source (and/or upward) feedback is an excellent method for collecting valuable information from a wide variety of people who interact with an employee. Feedback providers include the employee’s supervisor(s), peers, direct reports, and/or clients. The result is an identification and analysis of the employee’s strengths and areas for development.

Properly structured, reports can provide an analysis of the employee’s feedback compared with the evaluations received by groups of other comparable employees. The outcome of the multi-source feedback process is the generation of customized and individual learning plans or activities aimed at improving the functioning of a team. Multi-source feedback is normally used for managers to guide leadership development.

HRSG has the expertise and capability to design and implement customized assessment systems (automated and paper-based), while also offering ready-to-use, automated self- and multi-source assessments based on a generic competency dictionary.

HRSG prepares organizational reports on feedback programs. Aggregating individual employee feedback data in this way can illustrate trends in strengths and areas of improvement for an entire employee group, such as branch, job family or other organizational level (e.g., all executives). This information is invaluable in planning for learning and organizational development on a broad level. Targeted learning activities, curriculum and special initiatives (e.g., team building) can then be identified and / or developed to address common needs.

HRSG provides expert coaches to assist leaders in identifying appropriate action plans to address areas in need of development and enhance strengths. Based on multi-source or other forms of feedback, individual and/or group coaching is a highly effective way to plan, structure and monitor targeted competency development.

Mentoring programs can also be designed. These initiatives pair a manager, senior or more experienced individual with a more junior person in order to provide career advice and job-related coaching. At HRSG, we believe that important elements of these programs include a structured approach - where the purpose and the commitments of the mentor are carefully planned; and training is provided to both the mentor and the employee to ensure maximum benefit from the process. Mentoring provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to develop their "softer" competencies.

succession.plan.jpg (1895 bytes)

Succession plans are key to ensuring an organization’s sustained excellence and success. Effective succession planning involves a structured approach to forecasting and planning for changes (minor or significant) in an organization’s leadership and workforce. HRSG can facilitate this process to ensure that the resulting succession plan and processes are successful, and work well within existing HR systems and processes.

Leadership is a very personal phenomenon. It is learnable, but in a different way from professional or technical skills. There are no formulae to memorize, and understanding the history and philosophy of leadership is no guarantee that one can exercise it effectively. HRSG offers interactive leadership seminars and workshops that focus on self-awareness, communication, managing others, conflict resolution, group dynamics and facilitation and successful selection techniques.
