Summary of
Experience
A registered
psychologist in the province of Ontario with over twenty years of experience in the human
resource management field developing, implementing and managing programs for large
organizations.
Managed large scale employee surveys, several job analysis projects, the development and
validation of various types of employment tests, the development and/or audit of
performance appraisal systems, and employment system reviews for discrimination or
systemic bias under Human Rights and Equity Legislation. Implemented and served as master
trainer for a national recruitment and selection training program aimed at hiring managers
and supervisors in Canada Post Corporation.
Provided counsel and assistance to the Department of National Defence on how to
effectively introduce women into roles, locations and work environments in which they had
not previously been employed. Analysed societal trends and their impact on the military,
and recommended personnel policy and system changes to accommodate for these trends.
Provided career counselling for the newly disabled in entering or re-entering the work
force. Provided counselling and assessments on a one to one basis in clinical and school
settings.
Professionally, served as an expert witness to the Canadian Human Rights Commission on
employment equity for women and on compulsory retirement ages. Presented a brief to the
Parliamentary Committee on Equality Rights on the employment of women in the military.
Participated in the development of guidelines for testing in Canada with Canadian
Psychological Association (CPA). Past President of the Canadian Society for
Industrial/Organizational Psychology, a section of the CPA.
