The primary purpose of employee training and development (also referred to as employee learning) is to increase the level of employee competence in such a way as to benefit the organization’s level of service, quality and/or productivity. Investments in employee learning also help increase retention rates by showing employees that their employer is dedicated to their well-being and fulfilling their career ambitions.

HRSG’s training division, IHRM, has the expertise to deliver and/or develop custom-tailored learning and development programs for employees and managers alike.

Where do competencies fit in?

Knowledge of competency requirements for particular roles or positions in the organization helps managers or HR planners determine exactly what the content of the learning programs should be in order to offer the highest return on investment possible. In addition, knowledge of upcoming changes in company strategy and/or new organizational ventures as well as the various competencies employees must possess to make those changes successful help HR planners determine which specific learning programs should be developed to best ensure the success of those organizational initiatives.
